Tire & Axle Load: what the result means
Use with cold-load information molded on the tire or published by its manufacturer and a measured axle load.
Steps
- Enter load capacity per tire at the documented pressure.
- Enter the tire count supporting the axle.
- Add measured axle load and GAWR.
- Use the lowest applicable margin.
Formula
Axle tire capacity = rated load per tire × tires supporting that axle.
Important limits
- The weakest applicable tire, wheel or axle component governs.
- TowCheck does not prescribe inflation pressure.
