Editorial and correction policy

We write for a person making a real purchase or loading decision. Content identifies assumptions, distinguishes ratings from estimates, and links to primary references when a numerical convention or technical definition needs support.

Commercial independence

Advertising and affiliate relationships do not change calculator results. Sponsored placements are labeled. A product is described as hands-on tested only when that testing actually occurred; otherwise it is identified as a researched recommendation.

How products are selected

Gear guides start with a use case and the fit-critical specifications that can be checked in current manufacturer documentation. We compare distinct product formats, record important limitations, retain dated source records, and explain when none of the listed options are suitable. We do not create numeric review scores from undocumented impressions, accept paid placement as an editorial result, or call a product tested unless the method and evidence are disclosed.

Sources and review dates

Manufacturer manuals, product documentation, government material, and recognized technical references are preferred. Product pages show source-check dates and limitations. A review date means those records were checked; it is not a guarantee that a specification, price, or stock status has remained unchanged.

Corrections

Calculation changes require tests and a methodology update. Factual corrections are reviewed against manufacturer or government sources.
